Ever since the mid-1920's our family has been present on Whitefish Lake in northern Wisconsin on the Flambeau Indian Reservation, west of Minocqua. For five generations we have watched the Whitefish Lake community grow from only 5 homes to over 90.

Originally, Indian ponies ran free and traveled from lake to lake each day. For $10 one could have one of the tribe rope and bring you a pony for your use and for $5 more they would re-break it for a saddle. At the end of your needs the pony could just be let loose to rejoin the herd.

"Memories" and this video were created by Nancy Hansen to celebrate the many friends who have come, and gone, from our community watering hole, Square's Resort.
